01 campaigns
Out Of Home (OOH) or outdoor advertising design, is said to be the purest form of graphic design in advertising. This is because Out of Home advertising is not targeted in the same way as digital advertising is. In a matter of seconds an effective OOH design must grab the viewers attention, communicate a message, promote a brand, show the product benefits and initiate a response in the consumer. I am a specialist in Out of Home design, I have worked across the largest roadside billboard outdoor advertising estate in the UK, Network Rail and Transport for London network and have in-depth knowledge of how to utilise the formats effectively as part of a cohesive marketing campaign. 02 Billboard and OOH poster Design
Billboard poster design requires careful consideration. Despite their massive size, most billboards have a low dwell time, so copy should be kept to a minimum. The location is an important factor in deciding how to effectively design a billboard. If it’s roadside, the majority of viewers will only have a couple of seconds to absorb your message, whereas cross-track formats on rail have a considerably longer dwell time as the audience waits for trains to arrive. Either way, less is definitely more when it comes to OOH Billboard design.
03 Digital out of home creative concepts
Digital out of home (or DOOH) are digital advertising screens on the roadside, in shopping centres train stations, cinema foyers and airports. Screens which are not roadside allow motion to be displayed. They also have dynamic capabilities which allow variables to be set based on weather or time of day. This allows digital out of home concept design to really take advantage of this powerful format to capture the attention of a viewer. The London Underground Transport network is an exciting area for a graphic designer to work in as there are many large digital formats and multi-media canvases to work on which combine digital screens and print.
